ACCOMPLISHMENTS

  • Has planned and executed million dollar projects for Lucent and Panasonic on WiMAX Systems, CDMA/UMTS Cellular Macro Base Stations, Enhanced Digital Pre-Distortion Cost Reduction that spanned multiple technologies,  CDMA/TDMA Micro Base Stations, and In-Building Cellular Systems
  • Managed 3rd Party Vendor development and deliverables for Lucent.
  • Provided consistently clear and detailed project cost and deliverable plans resulting in faster time to market.
  • Established standards for Lucent project planning and communication with web based tools.
  • Developed and implemented processes that resulted in accurate data for critical decision making.
  • Managed and coordinated multiple project teams with shared resources to maintain clear priorities, ensured work and resources were properly allocated to the appropriate programs; “owned” master schedules and resources (hardware prototypes called “models”) lists. Models were used to verify system designs generate documents, develop software, and achieve agency certification (FCC, UL, ETSI, etc).
  • Developed first in-building wireless designs for the sales teams at Panasonic.
  • As the only technical specialist on a sales team, developed Panasonic’s first compact PCS demo system for staff
  • For Panasonic, built site survey tool to identify proper components and prices used to speed up the generation of quotes. Resulted in delivering fast and accurate responses back to customers and helped meet deadlines.
  • For Panasonic, developed and implemented the first automated testing system for cellular handsets; Panasonic’s factory still uses this system and process on location to resolve problems.
  • Consistently rated as top performer by supervisors, voted Most Valuable Player by project management peers
  • Recognized as tools expert for the department Project Management “Office of Support”

 

EMPLOYMENT

Alcatel-Lucent (1995-present)

Lead Project Manager and 3rd Party Vendor Project Manager (WiMAX and Cellular Base Station Development) (2003-present)

Lead Project Manager and 3rd Party Vendor Project Manager of Lucent’s WiMAX Development Program.  Produced WiMAX Development Project Plan and Executed to General Availability. Maintained CMMI compliance and standard project management practices.

Project Development Manager (Cellular Base Station Development and In-Building Cellular) (1995-2003)

Developed project plans to support the cellular base station product development process, including establishing timelines and determining materials and/or resources needed. Product lines included Lucent In-Building Cellular Business System, Microcell, Modcell, MicroMinicell, and OneBTS Common Asset projects among others with teams located in the USA, Australia, United Kingdom and Germany.

PANASONIC (1988-1995)

Applications Engineer: In-Building Cellular (1993-1995)

Researched and developed product accessories and support tools; developed solutions for customers’ In-building and campus communications needs; designed in-house personal communication systems, performed tests on prospective products, coordinated product introductions. Made technical presentations to cellular carriers’ engineers. Assisted cellular carriers to enhance their system sales.

Product Specialist: Cellular Mobile and Pager (1992-1993)

Worked closely with in-house product development group to set new product requirements.

Product Engineer: Cellular Mobile and Pager (1988-1992)

Responsible for the introduction, testing and evaluation of new products. Provided support to field engineers, sales personnel and end users. Facilitated factory and industry interfacing.
